Spring BG Windows

Color matching for the Video Color Bars window, execution, and finished product.

Yarn ship murals, designed for BG spring.

Originally intended as only one window on 5th Avenue, the visual department at BG liked it so much they asked me to do a whole series of "faces" inspired murals for all of 5th Avenue. Click to enlarge.

Illustration for PR Dep't of the Spring aviary window on 5th Ave. This drawing was done while the studio was in pre-production.

I made about seven Victorian inspired dioramas like this from gator board. The faux- wood is painted on after it is constructed. I then painted backgrounds and styled the scenes with real shrubbery and taxidermy.

PM Lounge at the Joule Hotel in Dallas Texas

D.L. & Co. invited me out to Dallas Texas to work on the PM Lounge located in the lower levels of the Joule Hotel. The first project to be completed was a series of animal "society portraits" melding animal heads onto well known society portrait by painters such as Ingres. These were done in acrylics and made to look like oils using transparent layers. The whole group of about 13 in total are located in the outer halls of the club, under sconced lights, near the restrooms. The other more involved project was a 16 by 10 foot mural of various insects patterned around a giant beetle. This mural was situated right at the front of the club at the bottom of the entryway staircase. It had lights hitting it from an angle so I used interference paint to make the bugs glow and change colors as one walked by. I really enjoyed my time in Dallas and look forward to future projects out in the the Lone Star State.

A view of the club from afar still being worked on.
