Belvedere Vodka 1X

Belvedere vodka asked French graffiti artist André to design a bottle for their 1X line of flavored vodka. For the shoot they had me age and scenic paint onto a brick wall with washes of black. I then mimicked Andrés graffiti style and sprayed "one-x" on the wall to create the dark street style they sought.

Theory's Saks 5th Avenue Wall Treatments

Theory asked me to create another wall treatment for their Saks 5th Avenue space akin to the one commissioned for their Spring Street location.

Carol's Daughter & Disney's "Magical Beauty": Painting for Windows and Print.

Carol's Daughter is a burgeoning African American beauty product company featured on Oprah and endorsed by the likes of Jay-Z, Jada Pinkett and Mary J. Blidge. For the release of the new Disney movie "The Princess and the Frog," Carol's Daughter came out with a limited edition special line of children's beauty products. They commissioned an illustration of a Bayou landscape to be used on in-store signage and in advertisements. For their 5 tri-state store locations I created a special holiday window treatment which incorporated store signage while utilizing a behind-the-glass reverse paint technique. This allowed for neither passers by nor weather to distress the resulting painting. Adorning the floors inside the store were decals made of my paintings of both lilly pads and water lillies.

The illustration and centerfold ad seen in Essence Magazine, Dec. 2009

The windows at the Fort Greene location.

Decal sticker illustrations seen on the floors of both locations.

Theory Wall Treatments

The creative team at Theory asked me to custom create a wall treatment which reflected their artistic sensibilities as seen through their clothes, buildings, and interiors. Of the many panels created for them to choose from, for their Spring Street store they gravitated towards a nuanced textured panel which was inspired by the metal mesh scrim running down the staircase walls at their flagship building located on Gansevoort Street. The results can be seen in the shots below.

The interiors department at Bergdorf Goodman asked me to create a wall treatment for the 5th floor inspired by the eccentric backside of a hand dyed piece of canvas. The first image shows the cloth next to the finished treatment. The next image shows the hand painted "Elizabeth & James" typeface and merchandising in the area.

The interiors department at Bergdorf Goodman asked me to both design and paint Neo-Classical inspired ornament motifs for display cases in the cosmetics area. The results are clean, painterly, and light hearted

The interiors dep't at Bergdorf's asked me to do a mural on the 5th floor in the cartoon style seen in the drawings printed in the Acne Lanvin collection. Merchandise was then applied directly to the wall in a method similar to the applické method used on some of the shirts in the line.

For the home window at Bergdorf's they are featuring blue patterned linens. I started with a fiberglass form of an Ostrich and working in only shades of blue I realistically painted feaures and covered the form in real Ostrich feathers. The results are below. I also painted the sky backdrop.
