For Bette Midler's 2012 Hulaween at the Waldorf Astoria, I was approached by designer Douglas Little to paint the central backdrop for the stage. Blondie was performing and he wanted an image of a Devil puppeteer controling the events on stage. For inspiration, I looked to old posters of magician Harry Kellar, headshots of a young Vincent Price, and handsome photographs of movie star Errol Flynn. The results can be seen in the assorted images below.
